Privacy

Modern Metamedia LLC (“Modern Metamedia”) greatly values the privacy of our readers and visitors to our websites. Protecting your privacy is very important to us. This document explains our privacy principles and practices. Moderm Metamedia operates several websites.

This policy applies to all websites we own and operate, including those operating under the modernmetamedia.com, moderndestiny.com, and shelterholic.com domains, such as modernmetamedia.com, moderndestiny.com, woman.moderndestiny.com, inthemoment.moderndestiny.com and now.shelterholic.com (the “Websites”). We will disclose it here if a website under one of our domains is operated by a third-party or has a different privacy policy.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Modern Medamedia collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers provide and is stored in log files and other related systems. This information includes things like pages visited, browser type, language, referring site, click activity on our Websites, and the date and time of each visitor request.  We collection this information to better understand how our visitors use our Websites. From time to time, we may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate (for example, we may publishing a report on trends in the usage of our Websites). Modern Metamedia also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for users accessing our Websites.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Most features on Modern Metamedia’s Websites don’t require you to provide personally-identifying information (such as your name, postal address or email address). In order to prevent spam, abuse, and to hold people accountable for what they post, we require people who comment on stories on our sites to provide their name and email address. We publish the name you provide (you can provide only your first name if you wish), but we keep the email address hidden.

From time-to-time, we may also run contests, surveys, promotions, or launch features that require you to register or provide personally-identifying information. We keep this information confidential unless we explicitly state otherwise when you are asked to provide the information In these cases, we may also ask you to opt-in or opt-out of information sharing.

Aggregated Statistics

Modern Metamedia may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its Websites. For instance, we may monitor the most popular pages our sites. We may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, we never publish or disclose personally-identifying information in our aggregated statistics.

Protection and Sharing of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Modern Metamedia discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Modern Metamedia’s behalf or to provide services available at Modern Metamedia’s Websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. We primarily use our own Websites and publicaly-available third-party services to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Modern Metamedia uses cookies to help identify and track visitors, their usage of our Websites, and their website access preferences. Modern Metamedia sites contain links to many other sites for which we are not responsible. We also utilize multiple third-party services to enhance the operation of our Websites and to provide us with aggregate data that allows us to improve our Websites and business. We have no control over the privacy practices encourage of these sites and services. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
